Awaab's Law, effective from October 27, 2025, mandates social landlords in England to address reported issues of damp and mould within strict timeframes. Named after Awaab Ishak, a toddler who died due to severe mould-related health issues, the law aims to ensure safer housing conditions by holding landlords accountable for serious hazards in tenants' homes. Initially focusing on damp and mould, the law will expand to cover additional housing hazards starting in 2026
